Security
- Never give your password to anyone else.
- Lock desktop or log out of network if leaving your desk for longer periods (e.g. meetings, lunch).
- Do not leave your notebook unattended, particularly after office hours.
- Never connect a third party to the network, do not dial in with a PC connected to the Company network.
- Do not use your company notebook at home for dialing into a local Internet provider.
- Restrict use of local administrator rights on desktops/notebooks.
- Confidential or secret information must be sent in messages specifically marked as “confidential” or “secret” Notes feature.
Virus
- Contact the Service Desk immediately when you suspect contamination by a virus.
- Never open an e-mail or its attachment if you have suspicions about the sender or subject.
- Never forward chain letters. They can cause serious technical problems.
Network Traffic
- Avoid sending large print jobs to network printers.
- Read/review documents on-line as much as possible.
- Send links to central files rather than sending them across network.
- Do not download large files from the Internet.
- Do not distribute files greater than 2 Mb across the network.
Always:
- Adhere to company policy on use of ICT tools and the Internet.
- Use ICT tools for business purposes only.
- Consult the ICT Service Desk before installing software.
